Mari Meine

Artist

Mari Meine is a self-taught artist who doesn't adhere to a conventional "artist statement," but she strives to convey her passion and creativity through her work. Since 2014, Mari has been exploring various artistic mediums, including glass, ceramic tile, non-porous paper, metal, and terracotta. She experiments with alcohol inks and acrylic mediums to produce unique pieces.

Recently, Mari has delved into the world of epoxy resin and epoxy food-grade resin, eagerly creating captivating works. Keep an eye out on Mari Meine's store, blog, Facebook, and Instagram for exciting resin pieces, such as geode coasters, coffee mugs, and more.

Her artistic focus primarily lies on repurposing and upcycling glass substrates, breathing new life into mundane glassware like candle holders, vases, oil and vinegar decanters, creamers, sugar bowls, and even vintage thrift store finds. Her ability to transform these items has garnered acclaim, earning her the reputation of rejuvenating dull glassware. Additionally, Mari enjoys painting lights and is currently developing her inaugural light collection.

Beyond glass, Mari's artistic repertoire extends to creating resined coasters adorned with hand-painted alcohol ink, abstract art on yupo paper, abstract acrylic on stretched canvas, and hand-painted acrylic and alcohol ink on terracotta pots. She is constantly exploring new mediums, with a recent fascination for working with metal. Mari finds great fascination in using ink due to its incredible flow and vibrant colors, reveling in the mesmerizing process of watching the ink move, travel, and blend.

In her personal life, Mari Meine is happily married and embraces the joy of being a grandparent to two young grandchildren, despite her own age. She shares her home with two beloved rescued furbabies named Greysea and Bodi. Mari finds inspiration in the beauty of sunsets, trees, landscapes, and textures, which she captures as an amateur landscape photographer. She finds solace and inspiration in nature, considering it the primary muse for her creativity.

She warmly welcomes commissioned and custom requests, eager to create one-of-a-kind pieces tailored specifically to her clients' desires. To discuss personalized artwork, feel free to contact her at [email protected].
